We the People
We are a network of young Assamese professionals that have come together with the overall objective of giving back something to the state that has given us so much: our language, our heritage, and our roots. Four things distinguish us:
1. We are a network, which means that we are not organised in the classical definition of an organisation, but are more of an alliance of like-minded individuals.
2. We are young, which means we have dreams in our eyes.
3. We are Assamese, which means that we are conscious and proud of our identity in the larger Indian diaspora.
4. We are professionals, which means that we subscribe to a code of professional ethics and personal excellence.

Our Philosophy
We believe that by virtue of our education and professional achievements, we form the elite of the Assamese society, and it is our social responsibility to provide leadership to it.
We recognise that each of us excels in, and has deep commitments to our careers. While it is not possible, nor advisable—our society needs even more professionals--to forsake our careers, we are willing to give substantial time and resource to any activity that can make a lasting and positive contribution to the Assamese society. We realise that while our resources, used in isolation, may not result in much, dramatic breakthroughs are possible by leveraging our expanding network of individual strengths.

Our Operating Model
To this end, we propose to undertake “projects” that recognises and impacts those pressure points that have the maximum impact on Assamese social and economic life.
What is a project? We have loosely defined a project to mean anything that has a start date, a finish date and a definable outcome. It could be small as talking to a member of the public with a view to sensitising him to the problems facing Assam, or it could be as large as initiating an economic activity that would provide mass scale employment.
In keeping with the imperatives of the network model--that recognises individual areas of excellence--we have left the onus of identifying suitable projects to the individual members. Once a member identifies a project, he assumes ownership for its progress and successful execution. It is for him to call upon the resources of the other members to guide the project to its logical conclusion. This model does several things:
1. It gives an opportunity to each member to exploit his individual area of expertise. At the same time, it gives him access to complimentary expertise that may reside in other members.
2. It facilitates creativity as all projects are individual-led and no project is bound by the restrictions of any \'organisational approval.\'
